Approximately 3,500 people work at Lancaster University as of 2022, comprising 2,000 staff members providing professional services and about 1,500 professors and researchers. Employees on sessional engagement and event contracts, as well as personnel from our international campuses and partnership operations, are also included in this workforce. Lancaster Arts, which houses the Nuffield Theatre, the Peter Scott Gallery, and a well-known concert series, is based on the Bailrigg campus, a center of culture. One of the biggest professional studio theaters in Europe, the Nuffield Theatre presents live art, contemporary dance, and theater from highly regarded international organizations. Unknown to the general public, the Peter Scott Gallery is home to an amazing collection of prints by European masters like as Dürer, Miró, Ernst, and Vasarely, as well as Japanese and Chinese art, antiques, and pieces by well-known British artists from the 20th century.
Supermarkets, bakeries, hair salons, post offices, and beauty parlors are all located on campus. There’s no shortage of cafes, restaurants, and college pubs offering different food and drink alternatives. Additionally, guests are welcome to stay on campus in our guest rooms and reserve our spaces for gatherings or conferences.
Together with the multifaith center, the 560-acre park, and substantial sports facilities, the campus also has a dental office, a pharmacy, and a health clinic that is a part of the city’s Lancaster Medical Practice group.
