University of Northampton
Here at the University of Northampton, we value a distinctive approach to higher learning. Despite being one of the newest universities in the UK, we have emerged as leaders in social impact and have been recognized with multiple accolades for our services to the community. Our main goal is to enable our graduates and students to have a big effect on the world.
Our goal at Northampton is to transform higher education. We created the Waterside Campus in response to this vision, and it opened in September 2018. Rather than focusing on how students should study as per traditional schooling, the campus is meant to support students’ natural learning styles. Our aim is to guarantee that your educational experience with us not only changes your life but also gives you the ability to positively impact others.
Our Learning Development team collaborates with students to nurture independence in academic, study, and mathematical skills. We offer a variety of support methods, including:
- Workshops integrated into your program
- One-to-one tutorials, both online and face-to-face
- Drop-in sessions, available online and in person
- Study guides, videos, and online resources on our Skills Hub
- Peer support from Learning Development Mentors
Our one-on-one tutorials help you acquire critical thinking, academic writing, and numerical expertise in an inclusive and supportive atmosphere. Learning Development Tutors can’t help you with specific subject matter or assignments, but their wealth of knowledge can help you become proficient in the customs of higher education.
Using dialogue, current undergraduate students serving as Learning Development Mentors assist fellow students with academic and study skills like taking notes, organizing assessments, managing time, referencing, making presentations, and preparing for exams. In order to preserve their objectivity as students, they provide assistance through drop-in sessions and one-on-one tutorials but do not evaluate written assignments.
Our virtual campus, NILE (Northampton Integrated Learning Environment), which provides resources to enhance instruction, learning, and evaluation, is managed by the Learning Technology Team. In addition to helping with digital assessments, student involvement, and the creation of technologically enhanced learning materials, they offer advice, training, and consultation on the use of technology in education.
Beautiful event spaces are also available at the University of Northampton, ranging from casual meeting rooms to expansive conference centers. Our newly built £330 million campus, which is only an hour from Birmingham and London, has everything you need for a successful event, including an on-site restaurant and hotel, as well as indoor and outdoor areas, cutting-edge audiovisual equipment, and a team of committed support workers.
The 58-acre Waterside Campus boasts a variety of environmentally friendly structures and has won praise for its green building practices.
With an emphasis on employability, the university provides students with a special Changemaker Hub to assist them in developing skills for their future professions.
One of the few colleges in the world, Northampton is recognized by Ashoka U, a global network of top universities that supports social innovation, as a Changemaker Campus.
With more than 100 societies and sports groups, the university has a thriving student body that offers lots of extracurricular activities.
Because Northampton’s education is practical and applied, its alumni have an excellent track record of finding work or continuing their education within six months after graduation.
