Our two outstanding campuses in Sunderland are just a short 20-minute walk apart, each offering a distinct and vibrant student experience. City Campus is located in the heart of the city, featuring main support services, sports facilities at CitySpace, and the Murray Library. It also houses our Art, Design, Performance, and Health, Sciences, and Wellbeing faculties. Meanwhile, the Sir Tom Cowie Campus at St Peter’s boasts a picturesque riverside setting and hosts faculties such as Business, Law, and Technology, alongside the David Puttnam Media Centre and a new 5G test lab, placing us at the cutting edge of smart education.

Affordable and Comfortable Accommodation

Sunderland offers some of the most affordable student accommodation in the UK, with prices starting at just £85 a week. Our three university-managed residences—Panns Bank, Scotia Quay, and The Precinct—provide comfortable, self-catered living options with fully equipped kitchens and onsite laundry facilities. Each residence is conveniently located with free transport links to both campuses, and options are available for single-gender, single-culture flats, as well as family and couples’ accommodation, ensuring there’s a perfect fit for everyone.
