With more companies finding ways to leverage technology for their advantage, there is an increasing need for specialist, skilled IT workers. Would you like to pursue an IT career? The information technology level 3 foundation diploma requires 60 credits, or one A level, to qualify. The course’s goal is to give students the information and abilities they need to pursue further education or employment in the IT industry.

In order to guarantee that every learner has the chance to improve industry knowledge and acquire up-to-date skills and practices in computer systems, networks, coding, website development, mobile communications, cyber security, and social media for business, this qualification is made.

There are six written assignments and six modules in the level 3 course. Every module has forty hours of guided learning content, with an additional thirty to fifty hours of optional content that includes readings, self-testing tasks, suggested exercises, and online resources.

Coding and Website Development

  • Understand the purpose and types of coding.
  • Understand web architecture and components.
  • Be able to create interactive websites.

Networks

  • Understand networking principles.
  • Understand how network hardware and software components are connected.
  • Understand the usage and security concerns related to networking.

Mobile communications

  • Understand the uses and features of mobile communication devices.
  • Understand the communication technologies used in mobile devices.
  • Understand the implications of mobile communications technology.

Cyber security

  • Understand cyber security.
  • Understand core terminology and key aspects of cyber security.
  • Understand cyber threat intelligence.

Social media for business

  • Understand the importance of using social media in a business environment.
  • Understand the need for social media content planning and publishing in a business environment.

Assignments

There are six written tasks for the IT level 3 foundation diploma. Each assignment is between two and three thousand words long. Students can access the ‘Tutor’ part of the learning portal to receive assistance with the courses and assignments.

University Progression

After completing this course, students will be able to apply to a number of UK universities for admission to a full BA degree program.
