Studying medicine in England is highly respected around the world. Thanks to renowned universities and modern curricula, England attracts thousands of students from various countries wishing to pursue an education in the field of medicine.

Studies in England: Medicine: recruitment costs and deadlines

Tuition fees for medical degrees in England vary depending on student status. For UK students, fees are typically around £9,250 per year and are covered by a favorable Student Finance England tuition fee loan. For international students, costs are higher, ranging from £25,000 to £40,000 per year. In addition to tuition fees, you must factor in living costs, which average between £10,000 and £15,000 per year, covering accommodation, food, transport and other personal expenses.

The application process for medical studies takes place via the UCAS system (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) or directly to our partner universities. The deadline for submitting applications for medical studies is earlier than for other fields of study and is usually October 15 of the year preceding the start of studies in England. It is worth remembering that most medical schools require passing entrance exams such as UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) or BMAT (Biomedical Admissions Test). Registration for UCAT takes place from May to September, and tests are conducted from July to October. BMAT, on the other hand, takes place in November and registration begins in August.

To be admitted to medical school in England, applicants must meet a number of requirements. Firstly, they must have high results in final examinations such as A-levels, Matura or their equivalent. We offer the University Foundation Program (UFP) Medicine Foundation Pathway, which is an intensive one-year foundation course designed to prepare UK, EU and international students for a place at medical school.

The UFP Medical Foundation course covers basic elements of biology, chemistry and mathematics, as well as more specialized areas of human anatomy, pathology, genetics and pharmacology. In addition to these core science courses, students will also gain knowledge of what it means to be a doctor, gain insight into technological advances in medicine, and they learn medical ethics.
