Studies in England for International Students How to prepare and what should you know?

Studying in London requires appropriate preparation. The first step is to familiarise yourself with the recruitment requirements, which vary depending on the university and field. Application to study in England requires passing language exams (IELTS or TOEFL). Some of our partner universities also offer internal language tests; many of them are easier and cheaper. Only by applying with us can such a person gain access to internal exams, where the required level to pass is B2 (on a scale from A1 to C2). Another important aspect is the preparation of documents, including school certificates, references, and cover letters. Studying in the United Kingdom also requires completing formalities related to a visa and health insurance. 

Applications to study in England are mainly made through the UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service), which is the central point for submitting applications to most universities in the UK. Key terms to remember are:

• October 15 – Deadline for submitting applications to all medical, veterinary, and dental courses and all courses at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge;
• January 25 – main deadline for submitting applications for most courses at other universities and fields. Applications submitted by this deadline will be treated equally;
• June 30 – deadline for submitting applications to study in the UK via UCAS. Applications submitted after this date go to the “clearing” procedure, where they are considered subject to availability of places.

Thanks to direct cooperation with many universities, we can apply to universities directly, using the internal systems of these universities. Thanks to this, we do not have a deadline and people arriving on student visas should apply no later than a month before the start of the year (to receive a visa on time), and people with resident status can apply up to the last day before the start of the semester.Please remember that students coming on student visa needs to apply at least one month before the deadline in order to receive the visa. 

Standard bachelor’s studies last 3 years. Studies with a practical year (so-called sandwich courses) can last 4 years because they include a year of professional internship in a company or organization. Master’s degrees (MA, MSc, MEng) usually last 1 year. We also offer Master’s studies in Advanced Practice. The student completes the program for 21 months and receives two certificates: Master’s degree and Diploma in Advanced Practice.

Study in England – fields of study and costs

For students living in the UK, tuition fees can be up to £9,250 per year for undergraduate and postgraduate studies and are covered by Student Finance England by providing loans to students. To apply for study funding, an applicant must have Pre-Settled Status, full Settled Status or a British Passport. To start repaying the loan, the student must obtain adequate income; after 40 years, the loan will be canceled regardless of whether the student has repaid it.  Following Brexit, tuition costs for EU citizens have increased to around £13,000 for each school year, although the cost of tuition depends on many factors. Students must also have a Proof of Finance to prove they will be able to survive in the UK. For international students, fees are much higher and can reach up to £20,000-30,000 per year or more, depending on the university and field of study.

If a student cannot afford to cover tuition fees or pay for a visa, we can create an online study program, which should amount to no more than GBP 2,500 per school year. Additionally, such a student will be able to, for example, decide to join the university campus for the third year and pay only for one year of study.
